Who is responsible
This site is operated by Kevin Foster (kevin.foster.uk@gmail.com). If you have any questions about how your data is handled, or wish to exercise your rights, contact that address.
What data is collected and why
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use it — which pages are read, how long sessions last, and where visitors come from (country/region). This helps improve the content.
Google Analytics collects:
- Pages visited and time spent
- Approximate location (country and region — not city or street level)
- Device type, operating system, and browser
- Referring website
It does not collect your name, email address, or any information that directly identifies you. No data is collected until you explicitly accept below.
Legal basis
Data is processed only with your consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) / EU GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking Decline in the cookie banner. To see the banner again, open your browser’s developer tools, go to Application → Local Storage, and delete the ga-consent entry for this site, then reload the page.
Data transfers
Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC, which is based in the United States. The transfer is covered by Google’s Standard Contractual Clauses, providing appropriate safeguards under UK/EU data protection law.
Data retention
Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 2 months, after which it is automatically deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the data held about you
- Erasure (“right to be forgotten”)
- Withdraw consent at any time (see above)
- Lodge a complaint with the ICO (UK): ico.org.uk, or your national supervisory authority (EU)
